 I enjoy fairy tale coloring books and this is one that has designs based on seven different famous stories by the brothers Grimm. The fairy tales included are: Cinderella, Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood, Rumpelstiltskin, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White. Each story has several designs associated with it including a title page with the name of the Fairy Tale in a banner across the top of the page.The designs are extremely detailed and have many intricate and small areas to color. While some of the designs have shading included, it is usually in the form of cross hatch or lines rather than a heavy use of black. The designs are true to the original stories and are a lot of fun to color. The projects will take longer to finish due to the intricate details.While you can have access to .PDFs when you purchase this book, my review is based on the book as it is received from Amazon. That way you will know what the pages look like and how they accept color. I like that the publisher provides the digital version as well so you can choose the paper you wish to use and/or to color the pictures as many times as you choose.This is what I found while coloring in this book and testing the paper with my coloring medium:32 x 2 each designs based on Grimm fairy tales for a total of 64 coloring pagesDesigns are printed on one side of the pagePaper is typical of CreateSpace: white, thin, slightly rough and non-perforated. The back of the page is printed black.The designs do not merge into the binding. There is a heavy framing line at the outer edges of the design to give the project a more finished look, especially for framing.Glue Binding (there is room to cut the pages out if you choose to do so.)Though you cannot see the bleed-through easily due to the back of the page being printed in black, I recommend the use of a blotter page when working in this book. I use a page of card stock or several sheets of heavyweight paper under my working page. It keeps seeping ink and marring dents from ruining the pages below.Alcohol-based markers bleed through the page quickly.Water-based markers bleed through in spots.Gel pens and India ink pens leave shadows on back of the page. India ink can bleed through if you apply heavily or multiple coats.Coloring Pencils work well with this paper. I found that I could layers the same color for deeper pigment or multiple colors and I could blend easily using a blending stick. I tested both oil and wax based pencils. I also found that hard lead pencils leave dents through the paper.

Love this book!! Captures the important bits from several of my favorite stories, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Snow White, Rumplestiltskin, and more. The pages duplicate which is awesome to be able to color them again, or color with a friend. The black pages really help with bleed through from the markers I like using

After reading some of these reviews, I passed on this the first time I considered it. Happily, I went back, took another look, and decided to risk it. I'm not sure why there were some scathing reviews, honestly. There is a great deal of detail, even complexity, which I thrive on, yet the drawings are clearly defined. If I have any complaint at all, it would be that I prefer faces drawn with a bit more refinement.I've purchased hundreds of coloring books and this is one of the best! After working my way through hundreds of coloring books, I have become rather definitive in my tastes. I prefer something I cannot finish in a mere couple of hours; something that encompasses my entire attention, and that means lots of details in full, complex or complicated artwork that engages my imagination and love of color. I like the drawings to be clear, no guesswork at what objects are or having to make corrections in the drawing so the completed piece "works." This book is a winner in every category.

Oh Wow. The Jade Summer co.is at it again. I just finished downloading The Fairies by Jade Summer that they so kindly include in their coloring books so I didn't have to copy pages from the printer. Super nice, and I don't know who does the Faireies coloring pages but hey are very talentented. Their books are about beauty and nature and caring. This book-just like the Fairie book is for children and adults of all ages and since there's a pdf link in the back of their book you can sit down in front of a snowy yard and both color the same page and no one misses it out. These books aren't too expensive-especially with a free copy you just have to print out and so it's 2 for the price of one. You can't go wrong with buying a Jade Summer coloring book. I love them.

The Grimm Fairy Tales coloring book is a cute take on Grimm's Fairy Tales. I love the detailed pages and each one takes about at least a couple of days to finish and I also like that about the books.

This is a really detailed book and artist didn't leave out anything. With that being said....pictures require a lot of time and there is a lot of very small detail work. Of course, the more detail the more lifelike any colored page is. Not a negative just think the buyer should be aware that this is not a book you will color through in a short time. Back of pictures are black which I happen to like. I haven't started to color yet so I can't comment on the paper but it is bright white which I also like. I would buy this book again and plan to purchase some of the others by this artist.

Great illustrations! The lines are thin, not the wide lines seen in children's coloring books. Pictures are clear and crisp. Several tales included, most have 6 pages. The pages are black backed and single sided.

This was the worst Grimm fairy Tale Book I ever Bought & It Was the Worst Coloring Book Done By Jade Summer I've Ever Bought. ALL AROUND THIS BOOK HAS BEEN THE WORST ADULT COLORING BOOK I'VE EVER HAD THE UNFOURTUNATE PLEASURE OF BUYING!!!BECAREFUL LOOK AT THE PICTURES OTHERS HAVE POSTED TO SEE IF YOU LIKE THE WAY THEY LOOK, DON'T ASSUME THAT IT'S LIKE THE ONES MADE BY Zenescope!!!!!!
