I am a CPA - so I bought this to learn more about captive insurance. I found it very thorough and it wasn't overly technical - explained concepts in plain language

I knew nothing about this topic when I started the book, and after finishing it, I think I understand it, at least a little. Very technical subject, but the author does a very nice job of communicating clearly. Not all lawyers can write for the non-lawyer, but Mr. Strauss is one.

Covered the core concepts and benefits of Captive Insurance Companies in accessible language and with helpful real-world examples. A worthwhile read!

My CPA brought this strategy up for me to help me save some tax money and I wanted to get up to speed. I 100% feel I'm ready to have this discussion with the lawyer next week!

As a basic introduction to the subject this is a good book. I found myself with more questions and wishing it had gone more in depth on some subjects.

If you are in the Insurance business, Captive Insurance Companies are a most interesting topic. For our clients who might benefit from the formation of a Captive there is a great deal to know. I like to give this book to clients that are interested in Captives. It is one of the few books written to the client. Most of the other books about Captives are written for an audience of professionals already in the business. Written in 2011 it is already a bit outdated but for the most part it explains the Captive concept squarely.
