This would be useful as a pre-algebra workbook. There are useful review exercises in it so I don't regret the purchase, but it doesn't begin to cover all the topics of Algebra. They really shouldn't title it as "Algebra".

This is the best book I've found if you want actual, challenging algebra. The other ones I've found tend to be more of a pre-algebra that preps students for pre-algebra or algebra. This one feels more like actual algebra. Great supplement to an algebra class, but even better for preparing a student for algebra the summer before they take the class. Probably ideal to have a tutor or parent with algebra knowledge to help with some of the tougher concepts, but it would be very rewarding for a student to use this book to learn it on their own.

I've been a fan of Kumon workbooks for the last 5 years. This Algebra workbook provides a thorough practice for my daughter this summer entering the 8th grade. Each page provides tips and an answer guide is provided. She has definitely been challenged by the problems. I recommend this as a great supplemental guide to parents.

I love kumon workbooks. This book introduces basic algebraic concepts. You will need to provide extra guidance to your child as concepts are not always clearly explained. There are so many problems to work through; this is the main reason I buy the workbooks. They are inexpensive. The under 80-page format keeps it from being too burdensome.

Strictly a workbook (not a text) so if you have a child who needs step by step instructions with lots of examples, this is not the book for that.
