I used to hear these stories when I was a chid. My daddy was the preacher that brought them to life. but I almost didn't find the book because he called the town "Birdville." When I looked at this book, "Birdlife in Wington", I recognized the stories in the descriptions and knew I'd finally found my Daddy's "Birdville" stories. His version was funnier, and the best one is "The Miserable Comforters." After he passed away, I found a letter from one of his adult church members who said to "keep the Birdville stories comming..I still remember the little children gathered around him listening and giggling as he told the stories and then marching off to their own "Children's church." That was many years ago, and the book brought back many happy memories. Thank you for giving your description of the characters that helped me find my daddy's stories.

I was so excited to see this book had been reprinted! One of our former ministers used the stories from this book for his children's sermons. He also had his props - a ceramic church, and each of the birds. The children absolutely loved the sermons. I think all of the adults did, too. I bought two copies for my church library.This is a terrific resource for any church!

I had this book as a child & lost it before getting to read it to my children. I was glad to be able to find it. It's a great book for teaching kids simple principles & morals thru parables. Though this book is old it still applies to today. My 9 year old is enjoying it as much as I did at his age.

Loved this book as a child! My children grew up loving it! Felt it was time to pass along its wonderful life parables to a third generation! Stories to make you refect on life's choices!!!
